The Valitics Platform, case study

As some people who follow this blog may or may not have heard, in addition to being involved with Valitics, I am also a dentist in Boise.  I therefore pride myself in having the best website in the valley in terms of usability, functionality, and search engine optimization.  I recently switched my website over to the Valitics platform to take advantage of the newsletter functionality, the survey forms and the ease of changing content (to name a few advantages).  I was concerned, however, about how changing platforms for my website would affect my search engine rankings.  I was currently ranked #3 on Google for the term "Boise dentist" and have received quite a bit of traffic and patients because of this.  I did not want to lose this ranking, but I also wanted to be ranked for a couple other terms and thought long-term this would be the best decision.

So, after following the optimization and best practices for changing platforms on my website advice I received from Marc (SEO alchemist at Valitics) I made the switch.  I anxiously waited to see the affect on my rankings.  In a few days, I was pleasantly surprised!  As of 8:16 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2008 our dental office is #1 for "Boise dentist," so apparently the Valitics Platform is working just fine.

What can I account the increase, although slight, in ranking to?  I believe the Valitics platform provides small businesses the tools to change content quickly and efficiently, thus improving rankings.  I also minimized or eliminated my broken links because it is so easy to interlink pages within your site.  Placing the proper meta tags, titles and descriptions on pages is easy also.

I am very excited to see what kind of traffic this brings to the practice.  Compared to the Yellow pages, I know it will be very measurable.
